5 Seconds of Sheer Terror…

On our summer trip to Michigan I convinced my wife, Missy, and my wife's niece/nephew, Casey & Grace, to go on the Rip Cord ride at Michigan Adventure. Everyone of course loved the ride and Missy described it as "5 seconds of sheer terror." Check out this video on YouTube -- I haven't had an experience like this since I was jumping out of C-141s in the Army.

The ride puts you in a harness and then lifts you 180 ft in the air, one person pulls a ripcord, and then you free fall at speeds between 70-80 mph until you bottom out at 6' and then pendulum back and forth in a huge arc.  A company named Skycoaster manufactures the rides and if you're looking for one near you, check out this list of locations.

Definitely not just another ride in the park!

The Days Are Long...

Checkout this great pictorial story I saw over on Ben Casnocha's blog. I know my wife and most parents with small children will love it. The theme of the "The days are long, but there years are short" is very true and as Ben notes - worth remembering.

Another reason I like the video is the great pics of NYC – I grew up in NY, love the Big Apple, and need to get back there soon to visit family.

Bummer Head…

They grow up quickly. My 4-year-old son, Jack, made his foray into online world today.  He authored his very own virtual Zenie Bottle appropriately titled, Bummer Head.  Bummer Head is his affectionate nickname for his 2-year-old sister, Anne.

He took all the pictures himself and actually loaded them up with very little help.  Jack & Anne can't get enough of Zenie Bottle. They of course love the Jack & Anne bottle I created for them followed closely by this Mud Slinging bottle.

It's nice to be working in a business that my kids can enjoy…
