I stumbled across a news aggregator site today -- Alltop
. It launched on March 11th and I really like it. It provides "all the top" stories for forty of the most popular topics on the Web.
So I can hear you saying – "Yeah, yeah…there are a gazillion aggregator sites out there, what makes this one any different or better? Well…it's pretty simple – the site is really easy, it's up to date, and it covers everything. Something the other gazillion news aggregator just don't do for me.
My take on the site is that it satisfies the information needs of 99% of users who never use an RSS feed reader or create a custom page. It's organized by topic and the headlines and first paragraph of the five most recent stories from forty to eighty sources are displayed.
Give it a test drive…
